The move to 33's has been a great, although I am fond of the of the stock 16's with 32" tires. I found a set of 5th gen trail edition wheels which fit the bill. I was looking for a 17" wheel, near stock offset, and not super wide. They look great IMO too (especially the early ones that don't have the black paint on the sides of the spokes). I wanted the narrower wheel because I wanted to run the less popular 255/80r17 tire, which is a true 33" tall, and 10" wide, giving better gas mileage.

The trail wheels have a +15mm offset which brings them out from the factory +30mm factory offset. I was hoping this would be enough to clear the new tires, but not quite. At full lock the tires rubbed the front of the JBA UCA's. I'd imagine a uniball UCA wouldn't have the problem. To fix this I ordered .75" wheel spacers from BORA. This fixed the problem, although I did have to shorten the factory studs a bit to clear the back of the wheels. Easy fix with the grinder.

I am very happy with this setup. Drives great, looks great, and handles the rocky Sierra Nevada trails very well. With the increased caster of the JBA arms, I didn't have to do a body chop either.
